The name is derived from Rubbestadneset where his father, Haldor Haldorsen, developed Norway’s first diesel combustion engine in 1903. This later developed into a large marine diesel manufacturing plant under the name of Wichmann Motor Fabrikk AS.
Rubb Buildings Ltd launched in the UK (1977) and Rubb Inc in the USA (1983), taking fabric-engineered structures global.
Finn Haldorsen and Rune Birkeland partnered to create Zurhaar & Rubb AS, managing a diverse property portfolio.
Hallmaker Group’s fabric building division merged with Rubb Group, reinforcing global leadership.
Zurhaar & Rubb AS acquired Hallmaker Group, renaming it Rubb Industries AS.
Zurhaar & Rubb AS acquired O.B.Wiik AS with subsidiaries. Later that year, Zurhaar & Rubb AS simplified its name to Zurhaar AS.
O.B.Wiik and Rubb Industries AS unified under the name Zurhaar Industries AS, reflecting its global reach and diversified operations.
